Welcome
to PKA Systems Ltd. If your business involves logistics and you
aim to install or improve a computer system, then we can probably
help you.
As a provider of complete solutions to the
freight
forwarding industry for over 25 years, we have developed Linux,
Unix and Windows based systems servicing from 1 to over 200 users,
running packages designed to manage every stage of the logistics
process.
PKA began life in 1982 as one of two companies to emerge from the collapse
of Probe Data Systems. Probe was the first independent software house to specialise in the freight forwarding
sector; despite operating in such a competitively favourable environment, Probe was unable to endure.
Percy Kay and two other former Probe employees responded to requests from anxious customers left unsupported by
the collapse by forming Percy Kay Associates.
Always innovative, PKA was:
- Among the first to cater for HMCE's C88 EDI standards in 1988
- The first provider to adopt the now ubiquitous Linux operating system in 1995
- The first independent provider to demonstrate an integrated Track & Trace system in 1996
Following the retirement of Percy Kay, the company was renamed PKA Systems in 2002, but the
tradition of innovation continues. Our PAKWiz project was completed in 2004 in cooperation with the
Computer Science department of a Romanian university; in 2008 we collaborated with
Daffodil Software to produce a highly specialised web tracking solution;
and in 2010 we launched a program to create a forwarding system for the BYOD era - before the term had even been
coined!
In order to maintain a competitive edge, modern businesses
specialize in services at which they excel. Our speciality is in
designing software tailored to model
your specialities.
Some of the features of PKA Systems Ltd software
are outlined here. We think you'll
agree that its scope is comprehensive.
